DESCRIPTION:<p>A series of visiting professionals talking about their work, careers, an
 d experiences 'making it' in the arts. Silver Run Ceramics is a collaborati
 ve line of functional ceramic ware created by artists Michelle Lyn Strader 
 &amp; Frederick Bartolovic. On their small farm in the Appalachian foothill
 s of Eastern Kentucky, Michelle &amp; Frederick put forth their unique stre
 ngths as ceramic artists into collaborative works which speak to their shar
 ed experiences on the farm. These manifest through contemporary forms that 
 are highly functional and versatile, embellished with primitive and sometim
 es mythical imagery depicting animals and nature. A narrative is always hon
 ored within the work, whether it is the relationship between predator and p
 rey, the intricate balances observed in the natural world, or modern interp
 retations of ancient symbolism or folklore. Each piece composes allegorical
  motifs with decorative symbolism and serves as a thoughtfully conceived wo
