DESCRIPTION:On Saturday, March 2, at 7:30pm at the McCrobie Civic Center, Imagining Ker
 ouac, a multi-media presentation curated by Don Masterson, will take place 
 at the Oswego Music Hall as part of their Guest Curator Series.<br /><br />
 Imagining Kerouac has evolved from a previous performance at Waterman Theat
 er on campus into a program unlike any offered before. Featuring the work o
 f a dozen artists and performers, the show focuses on the literary and cult
 ural icon Jack Kerouac, the “King of the Beats.” This collaboration of writ
 ers, actors, musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists has resulted in mult
 i-dimensional work.<br /><br />The audience will be treated to original jaz
 z numbers composed by the acclaimed musicians Robert Auler, Trevor Jorgense
 n, and Eric Schmitz. Supplementing this dimension of the show, will be a fi
 lm shot in Lowell, Massachusetts, Kerouac’s home town, by experimental film
 maker Jake Dodd.<br /><br />Noted visual artist Juan Perdiguero created six
  stunning drawings of Kerouac at various times in his life. These drawings 
 were featured in Jake’s film and will be displayed in the show’s venue. Fin
 ally, a script composed by Kerouac scholar Donald Masterson will integrate 
 these elements with a script dramatizing Kerouac’s life, work and lasting i
 nfluence. Veteran actors Emil Christmann (Kerouac) and Renee Stewart, will 
 be supported by enthusiastic newcomers Cathy Santos and Tom Mulverhill.<br
