 after January 1, 1978 need to carry a safe boating certificate while operat
 ing. Starting January 1, 2025, a safety certificate will be required of ALL
  operators, regardless of age.</p><p class="p1">The Oswego County Sheriff's
  Marine Patrol Unit will be conducting the NYS Safe Boater Course on the fo
 llowing dates and locations:</p><p class="p1">April 13 8am-4pm Scriba Fire 
 Department</p><p class="p1">April 21 8am-4pm Scriba Fire Department</p><p c
 lass="p1">May 5 8am-4pm Phoenix Enterprise Fire Company</p><p class="p1">Re
 gistration is handled online through the NY State Parks website.&nbsp;<a hr
 ef="https://www.register-ed.com/programs/new_york/252-new-york-safe-boating
 -course">Register for the course here.</a>&nbsp;</p><p class="p1">There is 
 no fee to attend the course. However, students over 18 who successfully com
 plete the course will have to pay a fee to NYS Parks to file their certific
