 , the two-time Grammy nominee and MacArthur Fellow has gained an internatio
 nal following as an innovative jazz instrumentalist and composer. Prieto ha
 s released five albums and created music for dance, film and his own bands.
  He is best known for the high energy of his live performances.\n"Those who
  catch him on a regular basis know that the bandstand is where the real act
 ion is," said Jim Macnie in a four-star review for DownBeat Magazine.\nThe 
 Si o Si Quartet features longtime Prieto collaborators Roman Filiu on alto 
 saxophone, Manuel Valera on piano and Johannes Weidenmueller on bass -- eac
 h an in-demand player in New York City's vibrant Latin jazz scene. Together
