DESCRIPTION:Help Support firefighter Rob Yager in His Fight Against Cancer.\nFor over 2
0 years, Rob Yager has been a steadfast protector of our community. As a vo
lunteer firefighter with both the West Monroe and Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire
Departments, Rob dedicated his life to saving others, rising to the rank o
f Lieutenant and ensuring the safety of countless lives. Even after his ret
irement from the department in 2021, Rob continued to serve as the departme
nt’s engineer, tirelessly maintaining life-saving equipment to ensure his t
eam was always ready for the call.\nEarlier last year, Rob’s life took an u
nexpected turn when he was diagnosed with Stage 3 small cell lung and lymph
node cancer. His diagnosis forced him to medically retire from driving hea
vy haul trucks in February 2024. Since then, Rob has endured three months o
f grueling daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy. Now, his journey contin
ues with monthly treatments and bi-monthly scans to monitor his progress.\n
Despite his strength and resilience, the financial burden of ongoing medica
l expenses has become overwhelming. While insurance offers some assistance,
it doesn’t cover everything—and this is where we, as a community, can step
in to help. Rob Yager is more than a firefighter—he’s a friend, a mentor,
and a hero to so many. He has spent his life running toward danger to prote
ct others. Now, it’s our turn to help Rob.\nUnable to attend in person? A G
oFundMe has been established to help support Rob's medical costs. Any donat
ion, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated. https://gofund.me/29ee0b1c
