Join Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center's educator to learn ab out bird nests. Have you ever tried to build a nest before? It takes great patience interlacing many sticks or weaving dried grass into a suitable sha pe. Amazingly, birds accomplish this feat using only their beaks and claws.
This program will begin inside before shifting outdoors. You will be introduced to the different styles of nests birds construct. Later, a chal lenge will be presented; you'll use various materials to attempt to create your own version of a nest. During the time outside, a guided trail walk wi ll take place as bird nests are sought out in the woods.
We ask that you please wear boots that can handle wet, muddy trails and dress appropria tely for the weather.
The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family. Children three years old and under are free. Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
