Albert was born in Oswego, the son of the late William and Anita (Galloway) Fanning.
He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor, and brothers William and Francis.
He is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Lyons of Arizona, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
He attended St. Paul’s Academy, and was a proud member of Oswego Catholic High School's graduating class of 1965. He then attended Monroe Community College until he went into the service.
After the Army, he attended Santa Monica Community College and was a graduate of San Francisco City College.
Albert was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW Quattrini-Dehm Post #5885, and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
He was an accomplished photographer, and was the owner of Albert Fanning Photography in Oswego.
Albert also was a voracious reader on a multitude of subjects that he was always happy to discuss.
A Mass will be held Friday July 19th at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Oswego New York. All are welcome.
There will be no calling hours.
In honor of Albert's love of reading and literature we ask that any contributions in his memory be made to The Oswego Public Library or The Fulton Public Library.
