Access to the lake is Oswego's biggest asset. The city should convert that tract of abandoned property off E. 9th St. into a park, instead of losing the best lake front in town to industrial projects, which would shut down public access.
The area is a dump now but is still frequently used by the public. If the property were improved to accomadate functions and provide better lake access, it would easily be one of the town's most obvious accomplishments of late.
Hopefully the city will consider investing in itself and the longterm quality of life instead of looking for an easy buck from tax dollars.

Have music events not targeted for people 40 and over. Focus on copious amounts of alcohol. Figure out a way to make jumping off the light house into the water an event type thing. Have a city wide beer pong tournament..... Figure out a way to make the fort be used as a huge music event (again not specifically targeted to just adults).

I think we should give people something to tour when they are here. After you see the marine museum and safe haven then what else do we have? As a child when we went to out-of-town destinations, we went to historical sites, and almost every town had a Native American village. Oswego has a port yet we do not offer events that draw people to the water.Have boat rentals, and Indian village that talk of the life of the Indian heritage in Oswego. Have a train museum. Have the Fort offer interactive tours, like at Fort Henry. We do not need another Chinese restraint, or pizza place, or for that another bar. We need to embrace the heritage of our city.

More art, more music events with music of all kind! Create splash pads and parks for children of all abilities! More family fun events like a day for kite flying at a big park !!
