Obituaries

Jerry J. Baker, 71, of Oswego, passed away on July 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Leighton and Dorothy I. (LaFlamme) Baker.

Jerry served in the US Army.  He was a self-employed tractor trailer driver and drove for Page and Heartland Transportation.  He also drove for Wayne Drug. Jerry enjoyed the game of golf and most of all he loved his family.  He especially loved his time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. 

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Rebecca “Becky” (Loveland) Baker, his daughter Cynthia and son in law Michael Lockler, and sons Dan Brown and Jerry Brown. He also leaves behind his sister Ella Shatraw, grandchildren Stephanie and her husband J.T. Langford and Jordan Lockler, as well as his great-grandson Gage Lockler.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. 

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Monday, July 8th, 2024, at Christ the Good Shepherd, at St. Joseph Church, 240 West 1st Street.  Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery at a late date.
