The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of two new art exhibitions in May.

Debuting in the Timothy McHenry Gallery on the second floor of the Art Center will be a show of work by first Responders called Local Heroes, featuring artwork by Bill Bazzell and Robert Clark. Bill Bazzell is a deputy sheriff for the County of Oswego. Robert Clark is a retired sergeant from the Oswego police Department.

Opening simultaneously in the Kirk Beason gallery on the first floor of the Art Center, will be an exhibition of artwork from the annual statewide show submissions called Lakeside 2.0. Says Exhibition Coordinator Bill DeMott, “We had so much quality artwork submitted for the Annual Lakeside Statewide Exhibition, that we decided to hold a second show of artwork not selected the first time around.”

Both exhibitions will open with a public reception on Saturday, May 2 from 3 to 5 pm. The reception is free and refreshments will be served. Both shows will be on display until Sunday, May 24.

The Art Association of Oswego is located at 30 Barbara Donahue Drive, directly across from historic Fort Ontario in the city of Oswego. Regular gallery hours are from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and from 1 to 4 pm on Sundays. The shows are also open on Wednesdays from 10 am to 2 pm and on Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm during open studio hours. For more info check out www.oswegoarts.org
