Write a commentLate on April 8, 2020 The Bowering Family Farm burned down and killed sixty cows, ten pigs and countless poultry animals.
Luckily, no human beings were hurt in the fire, but the farmer did not have insurance on the barn, animals, supplies or equipment that were lost. The amount of community outreach has been extremely astonishing and appreciated.
Twelve volunteer fire departments came to battle the blaze which took hours to put out. Neighbors and family members came from miles around to help corral loose animals and offer support. The community has helped raise over $25,000 for the family, who are still unsure on how they plan to rebuild.
The amount of people and local businesses who have donated dumpsters, homemade food, hay, a place for the animals to stay, milking machines and just themselves has been humbling. Thanks to all of their generosity the Bowering’s were able to clean up what is left of the barn in a short amount of time.

### About the Bowering Family Farm
The Bowering Farm was established in the 1880’s and is currently owned by Ralph H. Bowering, it is taken care of by three generations on a daily basis. Mr. Bowering has owned and operated this farm for the last fifty years with the help of family members during hay season as needed.
