Michaud Residential Health Services is offering a “Lunch and Learn” program with Dr. Renante Ignacio, MD and Pharmacist Jamie Branshaw, RPh, entitled; “Healthy Aging/Know Your Medications”.
The event is free of charge and lunch is provided for those reserving a seat in advance.
Dr. Ignacio, MD, will talk about strategies and lifestyle choices we all can practice to achieve and maintain health as we grow older, and some of the resources in our own community to help us address any adverse effects of aging in a loved one or ourselves. The importance of Advance Directives and preferences in care will also be reviewed. A question and answer session will be a part of the program.
Jamie Branshaw, RPh, who has twenty years of experience serving the community, will offer an overview of the basics consumers should be aware of regarding both prescribed and over-the-counter medications. Topics to be discussed include: drug interaction; definition and information about over-the counter, supplements and generics; the importance of taking medications as directed; the role of the pharmacist; and where to find valid information.
Those planning to attend should R.S.V.P. by calling (315) 592-2009. Seating is limited.
