The Dr. Lewis B. O'Donnell Media Summit is an annual event hosted by SUNY Oswego's School of Communication, Media and the Arts (SCMA). It was founded in 2005 by alumnus Lou Borrelli and Al Roker.
This year’s theme is “Digital, Social, Mobile: How Media Trends Impact, Theatre, Music and Art.” The event will unite the school of SCMA bringing in panelists who are alumni with varying backgrounds in television, art and music. The discussion will be moderated by Sean McAllister ‘01, executive producer and co-host of two entertainment programs for Las Vegas’s FOX affiliate, KVVU.
The panelists for this year’s event are:
George "Nick" Gianopoulos '07 -- Los Angeles-based composer
Diana Preisler '96 -- Star of Lifetime Television's reality series "Pitch Slapped"
Mya Brown -- Actress
Michael Yoon ‘00 -- Graphic Artist/Communication Specialist, Princeton University
The Media Summit takes place on campus in the newly renovated Tyler Hall theatre on Thursday, October 27. The panel discussion begins at 3 p.m., with doors opening at 2:30. It is highly recommended that guests arrive early to get the best possible seat for the event. Parking is available behind Culkin Hall and is $1 for the day. Parking Passes can be obtained from Parking Services on Route 104, Oswego NY.
Following the panel, there will be a Career Connectors discussion and networking opportunity with recent alumni from the college. This will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Hewitt Ballroom.
