Oswego book signing takes shape

Former Oswego Mayor John Sullivan will return to his roots on Thursday, June 8th, for a book signing/reception at the River’s End bookstore at 19 west Bridge St., in Oswego. He will read a few excerpts from his new book, a memoir/autobiography called “Pee Not Your Pants-Memoirs of a small town Mayor with big time ideas”, and will answer questions as well. Much of the book centers around his hometown and mutli-faceted career experiences over the last forty years. His political activities span over 40 years, and include a stint as Co-Chair of the NYS Democratic party, and as an Assistant NYS Attorney General as well.

Sullivan tells many stories about his career experiences, and about the people he met along the way. The style is often light hearted, and very conversational. He also devotes several chapters to his late wife Charlotte, and her dreams, achievements, and struggle to overcome cancer. She died at age 53 in 1999, two years after being diagnosed with a fatal form of the disease. Her openness in the face of adversity and conquering spirit, which many Oswegonians will remember, is on full display in the book.

This is Sullivan’s second book, the first of which is called “Forks in the Road”, and is based on a column he writes for the Palladium Times. That book , so far, has sold over 1000 copies, and is published by Authorhouse, and is available at River’s End as well as online in major retailers such as Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.
