We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.

  • To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
  • Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
  • You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."

Pine Needle Basket Weaving

On September 9th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees will learn a basic stitch, gauge, and shaping while creating a basket. Students will select a stone center that is ready for them to start stitching and a color of waxed linen thread. (There will be different colors and types of stones and colors of waxed linen available.) Using bundles of dried pine needles, participants will build their baskets. Students who wish to continue stitching after class can create a larger basket.
The fee for this day long class is only $34 per person and includes all materials. Pre-registration is required since seating is limited. To register for this program, please contact Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County 4-H Program at 963-7286. Be sure to bring a lunch and beverages.
