Stop the Bleed Class
Saturday, June 30, 2018, 09:00am - 11:00am

stop the bleed class

Due to popular demand, the Oswego Fire Department is proud to offer a layperson "Stop the Bleed" class on Saturday, June 30th from 10am-12pm. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes. Thus, it is critically important to quickly stop blood loss, and those nearest to someone with a bleeding injury can make a life-saving difference; if they are adequately trained to provide first care.

This course offers training in basic bleeding control techniques such as direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquet application. The course is appropriate for both the general public and healthcare providers. For more information or to register for a class, contact Captain Paul Conzone at the Oswego Fire Department, paulconzone@gmail.com, or call (315) 343-2161. You can also request a group class for your office, school or facility.

Course Cost: Free

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign intended to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
