In celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the Barge Canal, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego presents Oswego Paddlefest, 2018.

The Fulton launch is geared for experienced paddlers and starts at Indian Point beginning at 8 am (LC-Long course*Advanced approx.13 miles). The Minetto launch starts at 8:30am (SC-Short course approx. 5.5 mi. ending at the Museum's Boating Center in Oswego, NY at 11 Lake Street, on Saturday, August 18th, 2018.

This event, in its 5th year, encourages kayakers, canoeists, stand-up paddle boarders to enjoy and appreciate the unique beauty of the historic Oswego Canal/River. Paddlers will experience locking through 4 actual canal locks.

Early bird registration begins now till August 4th. Regular registration starts on August 5th and ends August 11th. Minors are considered 4-13 years of age and must be a passenger of an adult paddle boat. Due to the volume of this event, there is a limit of 600 participants. For everyone's safety, this event is recommended for ages 14 and older. Life jackets are required. Paddleboarders welcome but a leash is mandatory. The total paddle trip is 6 hours or more. Please arrive 30 minutes ahead of launch time for either site. Sorry, no pets.

Breakfast foods will be available for purchase at one or more starting points. Food will be available for purchase sold by vendor Gibby's Irish Pub or downtown at various restaurants. Registration covers event entry only.

A Family Friendly version of Paddlefest is sponsored by Oswego Expeditions through a grant from the National Erie Canalway Heritage Corridor will be offered at 3:30 pm at Lock 8.
