Celebrate Bird Migration in the Finger Lakes Region by attending the Inaugural Finger Lakes Birding Festival from Thursday, March 26 to Sunday, March 29. The region is a vital resting and feeding habitat for millions of waterfowl, songbirds and birds of prey as they migrate to their breeding grounds in the spring. The Sterling Nature Center, Montezuma Audubon Center, Braddock Bay Raptor Research, and Onondaga Audubon will lead a variety of birding tours, lectures, and workshops during this event at the Sterling Nature Center, Montezuma Wetlands Complex, Braddock Bay Wildlife Management Area, and Onondaga Lake. Participants have the opportunity to observe over 80 species of waterfowl, songbirds and raptors that utilize the region’s diverse habitats to rest and feed at during early spring. Discount hotel accommodations and program registrations are available at www.facebook.com/fingerlakesbirdingfestival.
