Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Explore the diverse habitats of the Sterling Nature Center in search of resident and migratory birds as we walk the trails and visit birding hot spots. We will search Lake Ontario and its shoreline for migrating and over wintering waterfowl, eagles, and other migrating raptors. The Beaver Wetland will provide opportunities to observe hooded mergansers, wood ducks and other waterfowl along with courting great blue herons and possibly nesting great horned owls. We will also seek out resident and early migrant bird life like pileated woodpeckers, eastern blue birds, belted kingfishers and American kestrels as we travel through woodlands and fields.
Funds raised during the Finger Lakes Birding Festival will go to the Friends of Sterling Nature Center’s “Join Our Flock” capital campaign.
