The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will be presenting a public program Poking About with Porcupines on Sunday, April 13th at 2:00 pm. At first glance, the North American porcupine may seem to have a carefree and leisurely approach to life. However, biological stress, natural predators, and human interaction frame a different perspective of porcupine life. Join us for a presentation with Pat Carney, Facilitiy’s Naturalist on the natural history of this fascinating forest animal. Following the indoor presentation, there will be a hike through the spring woodlands to search for signs of porcupines and their activity. Dress for an early spring hike.
There is a $3.00 fee per person with a family rate of $12.00. Children under the age of 3 are free. The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is located at 748 State Route 183 in Amboy, eastern Oswego County. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County provides equal program and employment opportunities. Please contact the office if you have any special needs.
