We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.

BRING: Binoculars, a scope (preferred), a face mask, a camera (optional). The hawk watch season runs from the beginning of March until the end of May, when the bulk of migrating raptors can be expected. Hawk counts at the site were started in the early 1970s and on average 40,000-90,000 raptors are counted each spring as they migrate northwards. Head up to Derby any time before the end of May to see the raptor flight and get tips on identification from our expert Hawk Counter, Karl Barton.
