Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Winter Birding and Bird Nests

Do you want to learn how to ID birds? The openness of the winter landscape allows us a clear view of the birds that are flitting about making it a good time to tune your birding skills. Winter also allows us a peak into last year’s nesting season with the leaves off the trees we can find and maybe identify which birds were nesting. An indoor presentation will help you learn how to identify birds through the winter birds of the Sterling Nature Center. For the adventurous after the indoor program we will take a winter hike in search of bird nests, chickadees, cardinals and the waterfowl that over winter on Lake Ontario
