The 114 Reserve and the Art Scene are collaborating for an incredible night of one-act plays in a cozy cafe setting!
And we will not only have plays, there will be live acoustic Christmas songs played during intermission!
"A Family Affair" by Olivia Murphy is about an estranged daughter, Maggie, who returns home to be with her dying father, Paul. As Maggie attempts to reconnect with her mother, Gertrude, tensions rise between them as they navigate past resentments. When Paul delivers a cryptic message from his deathbed, Maggie and Gertrude must decipher its meaning and confront an unexpected truth.
"I Should Go" by Anton Porcari explores the fraught relationship between a dying mother, Fran, and her daughter, Ruta. Through tense conversations, the play reveals deep-seated resentment and misunderstanding. As Ruta seeks closure, Fran remains manipulative. Dr. Count Murdor, Ruta's psychiatrist, offers both practical and surreal advice. It all seems real to Ruta, but is it?
