We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Humankind’s relationship to the nonhuman world is complicated and often contradictory. We love nature yet fear it; we admire its beauty yet try to control it; we are part of it yet seek to rise above it. Writers, artists, scientists, and philosophers have wrestled with these contradictions, leaving behind a rich body of environmental literature, essays, memoirs, poetry, and fiction.
Reading Nature: An Environmental Literature Reading Group invites you to join this exploration. Together we’ll read, reflect, and discuss how these works shape our understanding of humanity’s connection to the natural world.
At this first gathering, we’ll talk about how the group will work and shape the path forward together. Reading Nature will be a space to explore this work, share ideas, and reflect on our place in the natural world.
