"The Wicker Man"
Presented by the Oswego Public Library, this movie will begin at 6:00pm on October 27th!
 
The Halloween presentation, a free screening and discussion of "The Wicker Man" - the film that's been dubbed the "'Citizen Kane' of horror." Released in 1973, the film stars Christopher Lee, Edward Woodward, Diane Cilento, and Britt Ekland; Anthony Shaffer ("Sleuth", "Frenzy") wrote the screenplay and Robin Hardy directed. Woodward stars as a police officer who goes to search for a mission girl on a remote Scottish island. There, he's disturbed to find a place still steeped in ancient pagan ways.
 
Several versions of the film were released; this is the short (88 minute) one.
The film is at 6 pm. (Need to be out of the building by 8 pm - that's why the early start-time.)
