The presentation will focus on how schools work to prevent bullying and address student mistreatment while creating learning environments where every student feels safe and respected.
The presentation will be led by Roseann Bayne, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction at CiTi BOCES, who brings more than 30 years of experience in education and is a certified New York State Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) trainer.
During the session, Bayne will provide a clear overview of the Dignity for All Students Act and explain how schools identify, respond to, and work to prevent bullying and harassment among students. The discussion will also help families better understand how behaviors are defined under New York State law and what steps schools take when concerns about student mistreatment are reported.
Participants will learn about the reporting process, the supports available to students, and the range of interventions schools use to promote respectful behavior and restore positive school climate when issues arise.
