Navigating the Calendar
We get it! There's a lot to see here. That's why we've added a number of ways for you to find what you're looking for... and to browse smarter.
- To view event listings by town or city, use the Location Filter to the right.
- Browse by event type by clicking on the category you'd like to see more of; for example, clicking on "Free" will pull up all calendar entries that you do not have to pay to participate in.
- You can also type in keywords into the calendar's search bar, such as "yoga" or "bingo."
Join Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center's educator to learn about bird nests. Have you ever tried to build a nest before? It takes great patience interlacing many sticks or weaving dried grass into a suitable shape. Amazingly, birds accomplish this feat using only their beaks and claws.
This program will begin inside before shifting outdoors. You will be introduced to the different styles of nests birds construct. Later, a challenge will be presented; you'll use various materials to attempt to create your own version of a nest. During the time outside, a guided trail walk will take place as bird nests are sought out in the woods.
We ask that you please wear boots that can handle wet, muddy trails and dress appropriately for the weather.
The program fee is $4 per person and up to $12 per family. Children three years old and under are free. Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
