The Art Association of Oswego (AAO) is hosting its second annual Arts & Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., this Saturday, Aug. 17, rain or shine.
Members invite the community to please come out to visit the festival, enjoy the vendors, entertainment and the final weekend of the Members' exhibition. The festival is being held in the AAO building and on the grounds across the road just outside of Fort Ontario, at the north end of East Fourth Street in Oswego.
"We'll have vendors selling pottery, paintings, jewelry, clothes, home décor, hula hoops – and much, much more," said a spokesperson for the event. "We'll also have food concessions, horseback riding with Suzie and Tonka, face painting by Kim La Pointe, balloon animals by Hayley Watts, plus make-and-take crafts for the kids."
Musical entertainment (on the bandstand) is as follows:
11 a.m. – The Wingers
12 p.m. – Sean Languein (guitar & vocals)
1 p.m. – Marcella Slater (harp)
2 p.m. – New Horizons Choir
3 p.m. – New Horizons Band
4 p.m. – Gary Carpentier (guitar & vocals)
AAO announced they would gratefully accept any donations of home-baked goodies from anyone who would like to make some for the festival (i.e. 1-2 dozen cookies, brownies, mini muffins). Those wishing to donate are asked to please put 2-3 small items (2-3" cookies, for example) into small Ziploc-type bags to be sold for $1 each. A label identifying the item is also helpful – either on the bags themselves or on a small container that the bags are delivered in.
