The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of the 2015 Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition. This year's exhibition, the 18th Annual, will begin with a public reception on Saturday, March 28, from 7-9pm at the Oswego Civic Arts Center.
The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Guitarists Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb will be performing. The awards ceremony will take place at 8pm.
The Lakeside exhibition provides an annual showcase for new and exciting artwork from across New York State. It offers a display of diverse subjects and artistic styles for area residents to enjoy. This exhibition is made possible, in part, by a generous grant from Exelon Generation. This year, fine artists from across the state submitted nearly 250 entries to be considered for inclusion in the show.
The juror for this year's Lakeside exhibit is Bradley Butler, Gallery Director of Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY. Mr. Butler is also a teacher and an accomplished painter with an impressive exhibition record. He holds an undergraduate degree in Art Education from Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from RIT.
The Oswego Civic Arts Center is located in the northernmost end of East 4th Street in Oswego, directly across from Fort Ontario. The Lakeside exhibit will be on display until Sunday, April 26. Once the show has opened, regular gallery hours are from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and from 1pm to 4 pm on Sundays. The exhibition is also available for viewing by appointment. Group tours are encouraged. For further information, please call 315-343-6599.
