Adele DeSantis, 94, a life resident of Oswego, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Seneca Hill Manor Nursing Home.

Adele was born in Oswego. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Louise (Ingalls) DeSantis.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed, for 32 years, as a teacher and vice-principal for the Oswego City School District.

Adele received her Bachelor’s Degree from the State University at Oswego, and received her Master’s Degree from Syracuse University.

She loved to travel throughout the country in her motor home with her nieces and nephews. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, and an especially big supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Syracuse University basketball team. In her younger days, she was also an avid bowler. After retiring, she enjoyed spending her winters in Eustis, Florida.

Adele was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego.

She is survived by two sisters, Agnes McGann of Oswego, and M. Olive Fultz of Oswego; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers and their wives, Willard and Barbara DeSantis, and Jack and Bernie DeSantis; and two brothers-in-law, Dick McGann and Ted Fultz.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 Tuesday, July1st, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home in Oswego.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6:00.

Private burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory can be made to St. Mary’s Church, or to a charity of choice.
