New York author Matthew J. Glavin will bring his lively storytelling and blend of fact and fiction to the Oswego Public Library and help kick off the 26th Harborfest at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday July 24.

The Friends of the Library will provide light refreshments and Glavin will be selling and signing his book, "Adirondack Treasure: The Bonaparte Legacy," in the Erik and Emily Cole Community Room after his talk. Glavin will discuss the blending of Joseph Bonaparte's time in the North Country with the legend of hidden Spanish Royal Treasure from when King Joseph, Napoleon's older brother, had to flee Spain in 1813.

Adirondack Treasure stars Joseph Benton and Alicia LaCroix. Joseph has a 200-year-old Bible handed down from his famous ancestor, Joseph Bonaparte. Inside the Bible is a cipher that family legend says leads to a magnificent treasure stolen from the Spanish Royal Treasury when King Joseph fled Spain. Alicia is an attorney for Adirondack Environmental Watch and fighting the development at Big Tupper Lake in which Joseph is an investor.

This exciting treasure hunt and murder mystery blends historical facts with a terrific story and complex characters creating tension pitting environmentalist vs. developer and friend vs. friend. The search involves riddles and ciphers and leads to murder, romance and intrigue that will keep you up at night wondering yourself ... could the legend be true?

The 'Bonaparte Legacy' is the first installment in the planned Adirondack Treasure trilogy. "Adirondack Treasure – Isle Royale" is due out in the fall of 2013.
