It's summer--you need something to do that is more fun than mowing the lawn. You need a kitten! No wait, you need two! You need Bodie and Bennett, two adorable little brothers who would just love to stay together.
And it's a good idea to adopt two kittens at once, especially, but not necessarily, if they are littermates and already accustomed to and comfortable with each other. Even non littermate kittens of about the same age will adjust very quickly to each other’s company. The bottom line is that it is almost always much easier to introduce two kittens at once than to try to introduce a kitten to an older cat who already thinks he or she owns you. Your two new buddies will have an instant playmate, a less difficult adjustment to your home, and someone to keep them feline company for years and years. If you go that route you need to be sure to spend lots and lots of time with both of them yourself so they learn to accept, enjoy and seek out human company too. And what fun for you! Call the Oswego County Humane Society at 315-207-1070 or email us at ochscontact@hotmail.com to find out about adopting Bodie and Bennett or any other kitten or cat in need of an home.
For the month of July the Oswego County Humane Society is adopting its kittens for an adoption fee of only $50 each if you take two. That includes up to date veterinary care and spaying or neutering. You can see them on our website at www.oswegohumane.org (along with very cool grown up cats too). And you can meet some of our pets for adoption at the PetSmart Summer Adoption Day on Saturday, July 18th from 10 to 4 at the Lowe’s Plaza, 104 East in Oswego. We’ll post the animals that will be there on Facebook as the time gets closer.
