The Oswego County Media Group, Publisher of the Palladium-Times. The Valley News, the Oswego County Advertiser, and OswegoCountyNewsNow.com, is launching an advertising matching grant program to support small businesses in Oswego.

To help local businesses with advertising costs as state and local COVID-19 restriction are loosened and the local economy begins to bounce back, the Oswego County Media Group is offering a total of $100,000 in complimentary advertising space to eligible small businesses in Oswego County.

“The devastating impact of the pandemic on our locally owned and operated businesses can be felt in all around Oswego County, and we want to do what we can to help our neighbors and friends come back bigger and better.” said Jeff Weigand, Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer for the Oswego County Media Group.

While not requiring a formal grant application, requests can be directly submitted via email or by completing a short questionnaire via Microsoft Forms. Requests must be submitted by March 31, 2021.

Please include all of the following:

  • Business name
  • Industry/type of business
  • Number of employees
  • Existing marketing efforts
  • Advertising value requested
  • Target markets

Please also briefly tell us how this advertising will benefit your organization.

All allotted marketing value will be matched dollar-for-dollar with a paid advertising investment. The grants do not carry a cash value, and all awarded advertising space must be used by June 30. Matching ad space does not apply towards contract commitments.

Example: If a small business requests a $500 matching grant, The Palladium-Times will add $500 in free space or online ad impressions. The grants can include advertising in multiple publications.

Applicants will be notified of their grant status within 24 hours. At that time, Oswego County Media Company advertising staff will work with the local award recipient to develop a strategy to best use the awarded advertising space.
