The Frederick Leighton Elementary School (FLS) Home and School Association will host the 13th annual "All-You-Can-Eat" pancake breakfast to raise funds for the school's annual Circus Program for the 2013-14 school year.
It will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, June 9 at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St.
"All proceeds fund the circus activities planned and presented by the physical education teachers at Leighton school," said Beth Clark, chairwoman for the event. "Larry Rundle and Doug Young will return to Leighton to teach circus skills to students as part of the physical education program."
She said some exciting parts of the program include juggling, plate-spinning, stilt walking, circus sticks, clowning and balancing skills. The children practice all week in PE class and the event wraps up with a school-wide performance by the sixth-grade class.
"FLS Home and School appreciates the support of the community in helping home and school associations across the district fund special programming at their schools," Clark added. "We work with our schools to provide the best educational experience possible. Together, we can continue to
provide these exciting opportunities for our students."
The cost for the breakfast is $7 for adults and children 14 and older; $5 for seniors and children aged 4-13; and is free for children 3 and younger.
