Alsworth Lee Oxsen, of Oswego passed away on August 24, 2024 at his home in the Town of Oswego with his three children and his wonderful caregivers at his side. (Lindsey, Nikki, Kim and Lois), Lee was 86.

Lee started his career with General Electric when he was twenty years old and was the youngest nuclear reactor operator ever licensed by the then “Atomic Energy Commission”, predecessor to the Department of Energy.

He then went on to operate multiple nuclear plants for General Electric over the next twenty five years including overseeing the construction of Europe’s then largest nuclear plant in Northern Italy.

He then worked for Boston Edison as Vice President of Nuclear Operations in 1984 to 1987.

In 1987 he went to work for WPPSS in Washington State as their “Deputy Managing Director”.

Lee and his wife Susan moved to Oswego in 2004 so Lee could take a job as a teacher at Entergy. He retired from Entergy in 2012 after more than 50 years in the Nuclear Energy Field.

Lee enjoyed photography, tennis, travel, gardening, family and spending time with his wife of 48 years whom he adored. Susan passed away in September of 2014.

He is survived by one daughter Debbra Gray of Oswego, two sons, Tim (Beau) Oxsen of Salinas, California, and William Oxsen of Plymouth, Massachusetts, nine grand children and ten great grandchildren.

Services will be private. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
