Oswego County Legislator Stephen M. Walpole, District 14, recently presented a certificate designating June 20 to 26 as Amateur Radio Week to members of the Fulton Amateur Radio Club.
For more than a century, amateur radio has provided a bridge between people, societies and countries. Its operators have given countless hours to their communities in times of emergency, volunteered to assist local organizations and events, and served as weather spotters in the SKYWARN program for NOAA's National Weather Service, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
On Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, come to Fort Ontario State Historic Site on East Fourth Street in Oswego for an amateur radio field day exercise and demonstration.
