Write a commentAmy B. Ricchi, 93, a resident of Lacona and formerly of Oswego, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at the home of her niece Martha in Lacona.
Mrs. Ricchi was born in Oswego and was a daughter of the late Thomas Ward and Ella Kenyon Battles.
She was the widow of Frank Ricchi, who died in 2002. She was also predeceased by her brother Willard Battles, who died in 2001
Mrs. Ricchi had been employed for many years as a history teacher in the Mexico High School and later became a guidance counselor. She had also worked at the Oswego Hospital.
She was a graduate of Coe College in Illinois and received her master's degree from Syracuse University.
Mrs. Ricchi enjoyed traveling, gardening and family history.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and Canadian cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, in Riverside Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
