Anthony J. Osetek, 61, a resident of the town of Oswego, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late John J. and Nellie T. (Lupa) Osetek.
Anthony retired after 33 years as an Oswego fireman and more recently worked as an Oswego city school bus driver.
Tony was a dedicated Oswego firefighter and was a long-time member of the Oswego Speedway safety crew. He was the first Oswego native to be a Hall of Fame car owner and spent a lot of his time with the safety crew and working on supermodifieds at the Oswego Speedway.
Surviving are his wife, Susan (Kranze) Osetek; one daughter, Stephanie (John Russell) Osetek, of Newark; two sons, Brian Osetek, of Oswego, and Christopher (Erin) Osetek, of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, John Osetek, of Providence, R.I., and Paul (Patricia) Osetek, of Oswego; one sister, Denise Osetek, of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, from St. Stephen's Church, Oswego.
Calling hours are from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
