Write a commentApril Dawn Smith, 65, a resident of Oswego, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, after a short illness.
April was the daughter of the late Kenneth Elmer Green and Beatrice Stockover (Lynch) Green, and was a life resident of Central New York.
She had been employed, for 20 years, at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego.
She was the wife of the late Timothy “Weasel” Smith, who died in 2002.
Anyone who knows April, knows she was a huge music lover of all kinds. Every week attending as many live music events as possible around Oswego, and also traveling to places all over NYS for the bigger concerts; sharing selfies with the biggest smile each and every time. Outside of music, April very much adored her granddaughter Avri Timia. She couldn’t say enough beautiful things about her & loved attending her cheer competitions proudly wearing her “Proud Cheer Grandma” T-shirt each time. April was living her BEST life and definitely making the most of every minute doing the things she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Smith of Oswego; her granddaughter, Avri Timia Smith of Oswego; a sister, Judy Bea Green of Colosse, NY; a son, Mark Christman of California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Janet Audrey Green, Kenneth Charles (Chuck) Green, and Fredrick Newell Green.
A Celebration of April’s Life will be held at a time to be announced.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in her memory can be made to the Oswego County Humane Society.
Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
