The H. Lee White Marine Museum will present the play `The Great Rope` written by Rosemary Nesbitt and directed by Jonel Langenfeld this summer on Saturday, August 2, 2014, beginning at 6 pm at the Fort Ontario parade grounds. This production is a collaboration between the maritime museum, Fort Ontario State Historic Site and CNY Arts Center.
The play is part of the commemoration of the War of 1812 of which Oswego played a major role historically.
An information meeting and informal auditions for characters and technical positions for this production will be held on Wednesday May 7th at the Museum starting at 6 pm. Children ages 6 and above and adults interested in being involved should attend. Those interested in performing should be prepared to read from a script.
"Jonel, has made a point to involve local talent in all her community productions. She brings a rich history of performance and professionalism to these shows," noted Richard Bush, president of the H. Lee White Marine Museum, board of trustees.
The play is sponsored in part by NBT Bank, Richard S. Shineman Foundation and CNY Arts.
