AmeriCorps member Evan Oustrich is spearheading a backpack drive from now through Aug. 13, with various drop-off sites located throughout the county.

Working in conjunction with Human Concerns Inc., Oswego's emergency food pantry, the drive will aid the United Way's Stuff-A-Bus campaign by collecting gently used and new backpacks.
Backpacks may be dropped off at the following locations:
     — Human Concerns Center 85 E. Fourth St., Oswego, noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday

     — Oswego YMCA, 265 W. First St., during regular hours

     — river's end bookstore, 19 W. Bridge St., during store hours

     — Mexico Public Library, 3269 Main St., Mexico, during open hours.
     — Paul's Big M, 275 W. First St., during regular store hours
