Barbara S. Wilcox, 70, of New Haven, passed away Thanksgiving Day in her home surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Born in Boonville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Paul and Martha Sue Batchelor. She married the love of her life, Donald L. Wilcox, in 1965 and they settled in New Haven, New York to raise a family. Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she loved God and the community in which she lived, sewing and crafting, gardening, baking, reading and drinking coffee and she discovered late in life the thrill of motorcycling. She was an honorary member of the Oswego County Comets Riding Club.
Barb was pre-deceased by her devoted husband, Donald L. Wilcox; her brothers, John Batchelor and Floyd (Flip) Batchelor and her precious darlin' granddaughter, Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Elaine Seavers of Independence, Missouri; her best and dearest friend, Eileen Clark; her children: Donna (Jeff) of Mexico, Michael (Karen) of New Haven, Sammie of New Haven, Nicole (James) of Mexico and David (Julie) of New Haven; her grandchildren: Samantha, Matt, Ryan, Sara, Susan, Michael, Rebecca, Austin, Joshua, Jacob, Simon, Mason and Madalynn and her great grandchildren: Hunter, Jayden, Angel-Lee, Nicholas, Juliana and Eloise Jane, and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the New Haven United Methodist Church on State Route 104 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm with funeral services immediately to follow, officiated by her dear friend and pastor, the Rev. Vivian Summerville and the Rev. Rich Barling. Burial will be in the New Haven Rural Cemetery.
Funeral services will be handled by Nelson Funeral Home of Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Barb's memory to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, 34 East Bridge Street, #202, Oswego, New York 13126.
