Bartholomew J. "Bart" Saltalamachia, 83, a resident of Oswego, passed away June 14, 2014 at his home.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Angelo and Nancy (Natoli) Saltalamachia. He worked as an Engineer and Brakeman for Conrail. Bart was Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He loved walking, yard work, attending the races and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his sons, Mark (Nadene) Saltalamachia, of Liverpool; Michael (Xiomara) Saltalamachia, of Japan ; John (Mikeo) Saltalamachia of Waikiki, Hawaii; Joseph Saltalamachia of Hannibal; a daughter, Tina Orel of Oswego; two brothers, John Saltalamachia of Oswego; Joseph (Kathy) Saltalamachia of Oswego; One sisters, Mary (Larry) Taormina of Mass.; and four grandchildren; Jeff Orel, Nicole Franke, Danielle Sharp and Michael Davis, six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings, James Saltalamachia, Angeline Stevens, Anna Pacific, Lucy Woodard, Shirley LaFave and Nancy Saltalamachia and Jane Wedge.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St., Oswego.
