Beth Ellen Nutting passed peacefully at home on 05/21/25, with loved ones present.

She met the unexpected knowledge that she would soon be called from this world, with the bravery and the concern for others she has shown throughout her life.

Beth was born in Oswego in 1954, the daughter of Robert and Joan (Joyce) Nutting. As a young woman, she moved to Boston and spent many years there before returning to Oswego later in life. Wherever she made her home, Beth’s was a place to be welcomed and to enjoy fun and laughter in an always magical atmosphere.

Beth was a free, fun loving, down to earth spirit, as pragmatic as she was creative. With a talent for writing, Beth and her brother David were both awarded first place in an anonymous writing contest at St. Mary’s school when the judges couldn’t decide which story was the best. She was a force to contend with at the pool table and had an astonishing ability to routinely win the Pick 4 lottery. Forever resilient, Beth kept her sense of humor no matter how trying times were.

She is pre-deceased by her parents and brother-in-law Jack (John) Harper.  She is survived by siblings Paul Nutting, David Nutting, and Anne Harper, two nieces, two great nieces, a great nephew and her beloved cats Nicki and Sweet Pea.

Many thanks to her friend and caregiver, Becky Bradford and her family, CNY Hospice, and all of the special people who shared the sorrows and the joys with Beth.

In keeping with Beth’s wishes, private services will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

In her remembrance, keep the love and peace flowing with random acts of kindness.  Beth would say, “later” as she thought good-bye sounded too final. Enjoy the journey our precious Beth, Later…
