Write a commentBetty E. Gioia, 86, of Oswego died Sunday morning at Crouse Hospital.
Mrs. Gioia was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Hilda Zischke Geers.
She was the widow of the late Stephen Gioia, Sr. who died in 1997.
Mrs. Gioia was a lifetime member of the Grace Lutheran Church,
She was a sports enthusiast and an avid Oswego Speedway fan. She was a member of the City of Oswego Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame.
Betty is survived by one daughter Kathy A. (Marge Meyer) Gioia of Sodus, Stephen (Sue) Gioia and Donald (Chris) Gioia both of Oswego, four grandchildren, Chad Gioia, Stephen Gioia, III, Chelsea (John) Randall, Stacy Gioia and one great grandson Max Randall.
Funeral services will take place 10:00AM Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. Calling hours Thursday 4-7PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
