Bidding Now Open on Former Attis Property

Bidding has begun on the former Attis Ethanol Plant and Grain Malting Operation in Fulton.

The final preview tour of the property is scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1.

Collar City Auctions Realty & Management, Inc. of Delanson, N.Y. has posted the property description, bidding instructions and minimum bid information on its website here. Interested buyers can also view the property virtually by clicking on this link.

Located at 376 Owens Rd. in Volney, the property is being sold in “as is” condition which includes nearly 135 acres along with a plant (approximately 160,000 sq./ft in size), a railyard, silos and a malting operation with malt tanks imported from Germany.

The former Attis railyard parcel is currently in use and occupied by Finger Lakes Railway. It is unknown if other parcel owners on the remainer of the former Miller Brewery Complex, which are not involved in this tax auction, may also have rights to use or access the railyard.

To place a bid, people must first create a free account with Collar City Auctions. They will then complete and submit an “online bidder registration package” before being approved to bid online. Those who have defaulted from a previous auction are disqualified from bidding for 24 months.

Online bidding closes at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12. The successful bidder will be contacted by Collar City Auctions to schedule an appointment on or before Monday, July 21 at the auction company’s office, located at 9423 Western Turnpike, Delanson, N.Y. 12053, or to complete the contract of sale package via email.

At that time, the buyer will make a down payment by wire transfer only. Credit cards, checks or money orders are not accepted. The purchaser must pay the balance of the purchase price, along with the necessary recording taxes and fees to the Oswego County Treasurer’s Office no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11.
