Bobby Santos has been impressing race fans at Oswego Speedway for over ten years, and last night was no exception during preseason Supermodified testing at the 'Steel Palace.'
For the first time behind the wheel of the Graham No. 91 Supermodified, driven last season as No. 99 by Joey Payne, Santos quickly lapped under 17-seconds before eventually turning the fastest lap of the preseason with a circuit of 16.463 seconds in the Xtreme chassis machine.
Santos outdid Dave Danzer's 16.509 second lap and Otto Sitterly's 16.563 second travel, set last weekend during the Speedway's open practice session.
Graham Racing teammates Ray and Kody Graham also dipped into the mid 16-second bracket during evening testing, with Kody cutting a lap of 16.575 seconds in the No. 21.
Supermodified rookie Aric Iosue cut laps last night in the No. 11. Iosue made his first circuits in the 17-second bracket, eventually running a quick lap of 17.444 seconds.
The brand new Graham Racing/LFR Chassis Modified was also in the pit area last night, with Santos cutting a handful of laps. Despite little track time, Santos lapped the Speedway in 18.529 seconds, with more testing set for the car from 4-8 p.m. tonight during Fast Friday.
Two Small Block Supers were also on hand last night with Jason Simmons and Dennis Rupert getting their feet wet in 2015.
Simmons was the fastest of the two, driving his all new Hedger chassis to a lap of 19.234 seconds, with Rupert clocking in at 19.349 seconds.
Testing will continue at Oswego Speedway tonight in anticipation of Saturday's opener with Fast Friday from 4-8 p.m.
Cars registered to test are the Small Block Supers of Anthony Losurdo, Dave Cliff, Alex Hoag, and Mark Castiglia.
Supermodifieds scheduled to be on hand are Michael Muldoon, Dave Gruel, Aric Iosue, Jeff Abold, Keith Shampine, and Otto Sitterly.
They will be joined by Santos in the Graham Modified.
Fast Friday admission is free and the Speedway's Tiki Bar will again be open with a hot dog and beer special of $5, along with $4 10oz wine slushies available.

Pit gates will open on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with practice getting underway at 1:30 p.m. Time trials for Supermodifieds and SBS will be held at 4 p.m., with the first heat race of the season going green at 5 p.m.
