Village to Lose Water Pressure May 7.
The Oswego County Health Department has announced that the village of Pulaski will lose water pressure for a few hours tonight, May 7, while the Department of Public Works replaces a valve at the intersection of North Jefferson (NYS Route 11) and Park streets.
A boil water order will be in effect for village water users after water pressure is restored. The County Health Department issued the boil water order due to the loss of pressure throughout the system.
The Village of Pulaski Department of Public Works is working to restore full service as soon as possible. Staff are repairing the water main and will take samples to confirm there is no contamination in the distribution system.
It is anticipated that the boil water order will remain in effect until at least Saturday, May 10, and testing confirms there is no contamination. The Health Department will notify residents when they no longer need to boil their water.
Residents are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute and cool before using. They can also use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.
