The boil water order issued on Tuesday, Jan. 21 has been fully rescinded today for the residents served by the water system.
Bacteriological sampling has been completed for all portions of the water system, including the Wine Creek Apartments in Oswego.
Oswego County Public Health Director Vera Dunsmoor said that repairs were made to the water mains and bacteriological sampling has been completed.
“The results show us that the water is now safe for all residents to drink and use for cooking,” she said. “We would like to thank the Scriba Town Supervisor, the City of Oswego Water Department and the City of Oswego Department of Public Works for their efforts to protect the health of residents served by the Town of Scriba public water system during this time.”
Officials said that two water main breaks caused a loss of pressure in the town’s water system. Residents were advised to boil water until the system could be repaired and testing showed the water was safe for consumption.
