Brian Pittsley Sr., born in Oswego, NY, November 29, 1948, passed away in his Oswego home June 2, 2015, at 66 years of age.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War (1968 - 1969). Upon his return home from his tour of duty, he was a member of the Scriba VFW. His philosophy was to work hard and enjoy the rewards of labor. He often stated that there were no days off from work. When he had a day off, he enjoyed working in his wood shop and maintaining and improving his properties. He was very meticulous with his projects; everything had to be nearly perfect. Just good enough was not acceptable. The final results were quality and beautiful craftsmanship. Brian was proud of his work he performed with employers, friends and his own projects.
He enjoyed attending the races at the Oswego Speedway with his friends and his sons when they were in town. He loved entertaining and cook-outs with his family and friends, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and friend's kids fish in his pond. Brian had many good friends and was well-liked around town. He was a charming, charismatic person and for many who met him, they often became friends through mutual interests.
He often contributed to many charities and fund-raisers for those in need. He was very generous with his donations and would help in any way that he could. He enjoyed preparing and donating meals for special events at his favorite local pubs and banquet facilities.
